Khmer Products made from sugar palm tree
Palm Tree is the kind of tree regarded as national symbol. Most of palm trees have been grown in provinces such as Kompong Speu, Kampong Chan and so on. Most of people like to drink palm juice. Palm juice is a traditional Cambodian drink. Research shows that the fresh palm juice contains Vitamin B, C, D and is full of mineral, such as Ca, Fe, Mg, P, K, Zn. Drinking palm juice everyday will promote healthy living.
Unfortunately, the sugar palm tree is still a victim of illegal mass logging. Thus, in order to preserve these trees and to participate in the development of the economy of Cambodia. The local private company has approached the modern technology to transform local palm juice into tasty and hygienic finished products complying with European and American organic rules (NOP) as well as other international food standards.
Products made from palm juice are Ginger palm wine, Pineapple palm wine, Cocktail Mekong, Kiry palm liquor, natural palm juice, and palm vinegar.
That is the kind of wines produced from Palm Juice in Cambodia.

It’s good to see variety of products derived from Palm Juices unfortunately that many people cannot understand of the benefits of Palm Trees and opting for cutting down.

In reality, Cambodians always do not know the value of the palm trees, and some cut them down and then sold them to Vietnam. That is good that the local brewers started to turn the palm juice into the palm wine for exporting to overseas.
